What Makes Us Different

Fair And Legal Pay For Caregivers

We are committed to helping professionalize the nanny industry and ensuring caregivers are treated with the professionalism and respect they deserve.

Our Sitter Service caregivers are employees—not independent contractors. This means, our caregivers qualify for paid sick leave, workers compensation and employer contributions to social security and medicare. We are committed to upholding the IRS standard for proper employee classification for nannies and sitters therefore, our sitters will never receive a 1099-which results in double taxation for the sitter.

Our Care Director educates families on the Placement Services side about the laws surrounding household employment and advocates for each nanny we place as it pertains to proper worker classification, overtime laws, standard practices for PTO and more.

Team Culture

A Team That’s Got Your Back

Caregiving can feel isolating at times—but it shouldn’t.
At Trusting Connections, caregivers are part of a supportive team environment that values communication, encouragement, and professional growth.

Our agency was built by a former nanny who understands both the rewards and challenges of this work, and we remain committed to supporting caregivers in meaningful ways.

Answers to Your Most Common Questions

This depends on the type of job you accept through our agency.

Nannies and sitters on our Flex Team are employed by the agency. Benefits of employee-status include competitive hourly pay, coverage under our extensive liability insurance and workers compensation policies, ongoing training and support, working on a team and more.

If you are matched with a family in our Placement Division, you will become an employee of the family. Our agency educates families on industry legal issues and makes it clear to family employers that the IRS considers nannies to be W2 employees, not independent contractors. We help the family uphold industry standards and comply with laws surrounding employment to help ensure that you are being treated fairly.
There are multiple benefits to working with an agency. Check out our nifty infographic to learn all about why nannies needs agencies!

Did you know that nannies are always considered to be employees and not independent contractors? Families who pay you cash for your work “under the table” are not only breaking the law- they could also be potentially putting you at financial risk. Click here to learn more.
We are super thorough but also motivated to get you on our team as soon as possible. Applicants should expect a hiring process that is approx. 1-2 weeks in length from start to finish, depending on various factors including how long it takes to reach your references, complete your paperwork and obtain your CPR/First Aid certification if you don’t already have it.
Absolutely not. Clients pay our fees in full. We do require our applicants to pay for their CPR/First Aid training if they aren’t already certified and we also ask that on boarding Flex team members pay for their drug test up front but we reimburse you after 90-days of employment.
We value exceptionalism over experience and seek to hire individuals who exhibit strong moral character and integrity – the qualities in a person that we can’t teach. We widely define experience to include paid or volunteer work with children in a church, non-profit or other setting. We also accept any paid babysitting work. Anyone who has observed or supervised you in the aforementioned environment, may serve as a professional reference.

In order to qualify for a Placement through our agency, candidates will need a minimum of 2 years of professional nanny experience, with the exception of years of teaching depending on the family. We’re happy to accept summer nanny work depending on the length of employment and/or depending on the specific placement job requirements the candidate is applying for.
Everyone has “off” days, including families. We may ask you to give them another chance. If for whatever reason you feel uncomfortable (personality type, parenting styles…etc), we will make proper arrangements to ensure you are in a good work environment. Sometimes that means we will not schedule you with that family in the future.
The safety of our nannies and sitters is a big priority for us which is why we invest a significant amount of time and money meeting new clients virtually before allowing the client to schedule care. We require families to go through the registration process including an initial consultation – (“Joe Shmoe” can’t call us on a Friday night and get a sitter at his home.) The only exception to this is Resort Care or Corporate Care shifts.
It depends. If you are placed with a family through our Placement Division, you will more than likely be making a one-year commitment to consistently work with one family.

If you are employed by our agency and work on our Flex Team you may be scheduled to work with multiple families each week or you may have a regular family you are scheduled to work with on a regular, (usually part-time) basis.

Some nannies choose to do both – be employed full-time by one family through our Placement Services and also pick up extra shifts as a member of our Flex Team.
Nannies placed through our placement services are paid at whatever rate is set by the family. Clients typically offer anywhere between $18-$30+ per hour depending on the job description, experience/education of the nanny, etc. However, there are exceptions to this.

Nannies employed by our agency make anywhere from $16 – $20/hour depending on the shift type and location. As a member of our Flex Team, we work around your schedule and legally employ you, contributing to your social security and medicare and unemployment insurance.

Client Testimonials

Five-star agency

“One of the best things about Trusting Connections is the flexibility that I have as an employee. I can take off work when I need to, and they are so kind and gracious in building a schedule that works with my own school and home situation. As a graduate student, it has been a priority of mine to have set aside time to study. Not only does Trusting Connections accommodate this, but they celebrate it! The families that I have had the privilege of working with have been friendly, and I am thankful to have TC behind me handling scheduling and communication with families.”

Trusting Connections Nanny

“After years of nannying, I had worked with several agencies, but none compared to Trusting Connections. They truly took the time to understand what I was looking for and matched me with a family that feels like the perfect fit. Throughout the entire process, I felt supported, respected, and valued—not just as a nanny, but as a professional. I couldn't be happier with the opportunity they helped me find.”

Trusting Connections Nanny

“Great way to supplement your income! Everybody is super kind, helpful, and understanding. Pretty flexible schedule! I'm glad to be able to ask off with enough advanced notice and not ever have to worry about that falling through.”

Trusting Connections Nanny

“TC staff and superiors are super friendly and understanding. They are always willing to work with you and your schedule. I'm a part time student and their flexibility has been fantastic. They offer benefits and under them you are insured in case any accidents happen while on duty. In my opinion it is much better than freelancing because I feel more secure as a documented employee. They also offer seminars and continuing education opportunities if you are interested in becoming more skilled in child development.”
