TC’s exclusive matching process ensures that you will not waste your time sorting through endless profiles and applications or interviewing nannies that are unqualified or unable to meet your needs. Your match specialist will consider the information given in your family profile form when sorting through nannies in our database that are waiting for a permanent placement. Your position will also be posted anonymously on our website to attract new applicants. All nannies in our placement pool are pre-screened for safety and we also use comprehensive personality assessments to make truly compatible family/nanny matches. When we identify a potentially “good fit” the candidates’ bio and pre-screening results (including detailed personality reports with customized suggested interview questions) will be emailed to you. We will schedule all interviews for you and will arrange to have the candidate either meet you in your home or at a public location of your choice. You will also receive TC’s interview sheet and guide that will help you make the most of each interview.
Step 5: Trial Period (Optional)
Trusting Connections strongly encourages families who are considering employing a nanny to do a “trial period” with the candidate to make sure it is a good fit for both parties before a position is formally offered. A trial period may be a few days or up to one week. The family is charged a daily agency fee and also pays the nanny directly for her services at the pay rate being offered for the position. Agency fees for trial periods are $15 for a half day (up to 6 hours) and $25 for a full day (6 hours or more).
Step 6: Family/Nanny Work Agreement
Trusting Connections strongly encourages families who are hiring a nanny to have a written Work Agreement that both parties sign. This document lays the foundation for a successful relationship between you and your nanny as it ensures that both parties are clear about all the terms and conditions of employment. It should contain a detailed job description, salary and any applicable benefits information, the nanny’s work schedule and more. A Work Agreement also acknowledges each party’s commitment to one another for the designated length of time. We will be a resource for you throughout this process and will also provide you with the International Nanny Associations’ Work Agreement Template to guide you in drafting your own. Once you have finalized and signed your Work Agreement, we will present it to the nanny on your behalf and facilitate negotiations or discussions between both parties. At this time, the selected candidate will be fully processed with a background investigation and 9-panel drug and TB test. Families may wish to also have their nanny take additional assessments such as the Integrity Assessment or various aptitude tests.
The nanny’s employment will be contingent upon the passing of the final screening processes. No placement fee is charged until a nanny has been fully processed and hired.
