sitter service faq
Ok. Here is the scoop.
We have multiple nanny services available. If you are looking to hire a full-time nanny or other domestic staff (30 hours/week or more) and you’re hoping for more of a long-term commitment, we recommend our Placement Services. The main distinction between this service and using our Flex Membership is that you will be the employer, not the agency. We are expert matchmakers that can connect you to truly compatible candidates. You will also be able to determine the hourly rate you are willing to offer and will pay your employee directly.
If you are looking for part-time, temporary or occasional care or you need full-time care but don’t want to employ the nanny directly, Flex Membership is the best fit for you. We have two different membership types: Flex and Consistent Care. Flex membership is best suited for families with as-needed or inconsistent care needs. If you have a set, consistent schedule and want to work with one nanny or sitter, Consistent Care Membership is for you!
Membership includes a personalized, virtual in-home consultation, access to our team of fully screened and agency-employed caregivers 24/7, 365 days a year. Families staying at a resort or hotel, or those who do not want to become members, can use our nanny services as a non-member at non-member rates. It is important to note that non-members will not receive priority scheduling, waived urgency fees for care requests with less than 48 hours notice, and may not be eligible to earn referral credits.
Our Flex Membership is designed for families who don’t have a set schedule and would like to use us on a sporadic case-by-case basis. With this membership, we send one of our highly qualified sitters and it is possible you might have a different sitter each time.
Our Consistent Care Membership is designed for families who have a set and consistent schedule. It is the same as the Flex Membership, with one exception. With a Consistent Care Membership, we will be able to reserve one sitter to work with your family on a regular basis, for the set, weekly schedule you determine ahead of time. We recommend that families who want to become a Consistent Care Member start with a Flex Membership and then upgrade once we have identified a sitter that the family wants to work with on a regular basis. It can take some time to find the right match, so families who want to utilize a Consistent Care Membership should register a few weeks in advance of the desired start date.
No! Our memberships are sold in packages and that pricing will cover the duration of the package you choose. Hourly rates are a separate charge from the membership rates.
While we’re sad to see you go, we understand situations change and evolve. To cancel your membership, just click on the link here and fill out the form.
If you want to use our Flex Membership services as a classic member, we recommend registering one week, at a minimum, before you want to start using the service; however, we have been able to work with families who need a faster turnaround time. Talk to an agency rep about your situation for more info. If you want to do a Consistent Care Membership and find one nanny to work with on a regular basis, please allow more time for this process.
All TC employees undergo one of the most meticulous screening processes in the country. We work with a licensed private detective that investigates all of our applicants by hand (rather than relying on ineffective computerized background checks), we drug test, require our employees to pass a knowledge-based exam and more. While our focus is on providing high-quality child care services, Flex members can request family assistant, pet sitting and homeschool helping services as well.
We do it all! We offer newborn care, overnight care, extended care, sick care and even in-home senior care. Our nannies and sitters can also provide care for multiples and children in need of specialized care. We can even arrange to have one of our team members travel with you!
Our nannies come fully equipped to handle all situations! They are prepared to entertain your children in any capacity, prepare fresh meals and more. You provide them with your daily routine or schedule and they will carry it out!
Yes! Our nannies can absolutely assist with school pick-ups, drop-offs, and transportation to extracurricular activities. All Trusting Connections nannies are thoroughly vetted and insured, and many are comfortable providing safe, reliable transportation using their own vehicles or your family’s car.
During your registration process, you’ll have the opportunity to indicate your specific transportation needs and preferences so we can match you with a nanny who meets those requirements.
In a nutshell…
Flex Membership: We have 3-month, 6-month and 12-month memberships available. A 3-month Classic Membership is $120. A 6-month Classic is $180. A 12-Month Classic is $240. A 3-month Consistent Care Membership is $249. A 6-month Consistent Care Membership is $349. A 12-Month Consistent Care Membership is $499. Our all-inclusive hourly rates vary depending on location and type of care. To review each location’s fees click here. Hourly rates include the nanny’s salary, taxes, insurance and agency fees.
With both of our membership options, we do not have any usage requirements. You may use us as little or as much as you’d like to throughout the duration of your membership. As soon as you have completed your Care Consultation and filled out all required paperwork you will be ready to schedule care immediately. We ask families to give us their care requests for the following week by Thursday since we write our schedules on Friday (if possible). That being said, we also accept last minute requests for care and boast a 98% fulfillment rate for all care requests!
If you were requesting care for a week in which the schedule has already been written, you will receive a call as soon as the shift has been booked and you will also get live-time status updates in the client portal when a sitter has been assigned to your care request. If you are requesting your care in advance, you will receive an email from our scheduling department confirming your care requests for the upcoming week.
While we strive to provide consistency for our members, we realize that this can’t always happen.
If your nanny that is scheduled for your shift is sick or becomes unavailable, our Scheduling Director will work diligently to fill your shift and will notify you of any changes. You will also have access to your client portal where you will be able to see in real-time when your care request shift has been booked.
Having the same nanny for each shift will depend on which membership you have chosen to register with. With our Consistent Care Membership, we are able to reserve a single nanny to work exclusively with one family. With our Flex Membership, we will send one of our highly-qualified nannies that we have available for your needed shift. Families with our Flex Membership can absolutely request a particular sitter, we just aren’t able to provide a guarantee that the individual will be available.
No. You are not charged for the nanny’s mileage to and from work. You are only charged mileage if you are needing the sitter to do on the job driving using her own vehicle. In this case you are charged $1 per mile.
We do! If children are sick with a contagious illness, a $4/hour sick surcharge will be added to the hourly rate. We pay our nannies more when they risk getting sick themselves! We also have an advanced care surcharge for families that need someone with an additional skill set for a variety of special needs. Please inquire for more information.
When you are a Flex Care member or Resort Guest using us on an occasional basis, there really isn’t much of an opportunity to necessarily meet the scheduled sitter ahead of time but you will have access to their profile in the portal and get to read about them. We have a wonderful team so we highly doubt you will be disappointed with who we send! If you are doing a Consistent Care membership, in the first few weeks when we are trying to identify your regular person, we can schedule what we call “Meet and Greets” where you can pay to have a short amount of time with the sitter (in person or virtually) or you can just schedule a regular shift to see them in action!
Absolutely! Families can request an end-of-year childcare summary from Trusting Connections for tax or reimbursement purposes. Simply email us at info@trustingconnections.com and our team will prepare a detailed statement that includes the total amount you paid for childcare services within the calendar year.
Please note that Trusting Connections is not able to provide tax advice, but your statement will include all the information typically needed for dependent care claims or write-offs.
If you are ready to get started, click that gold, “Get Started” button at the top right hand corner of the website. You will be asked to pay a $65 initiation fee at the time of registration, but that initiation fee will be applied towards whichever membership you select within our Sitter Service.

If you have a set, consistent schedule and want to work with one nanny or sitter, Consistent Care Membership is for you!
By utilizing our Placement Services, you will become the employer of the nanny rather than utilizing one of our agency-employed nannies. This allows you the ability to determine your own hourly rate. It also means that you will be responsible for paying payroll taxes on the nanny’s salary, as they must be a W-2 employee. There are many resources available to families who are unsure how to navigate the taxes. We recommend using HomeWork Solutions.
Yes! We have two different options. An agency-employed option through our Consistent Care program and a family-employed option through a Placement.
If you are utilizing our Placement nanny services, we recommend registering 6-8 weeks in advance of the desired start date. Finding the perfect fit can take some time! Most of our placements take, on average, 4-6 weeks to complete because we have such a thorough process and we recommend that clients do a trial period after a successful interview to make sure that nanny is the right fit before formally offering a position.

In our Placement Division, we are experienced with placing a wide variety of domestic staff including estate and household managers, personal assistants, newborn care specialists, in-home senior care and more.
In a nutshell…
Placement: $399 Registration Fee to get the process started. $65 is due at registration and the remaining $334 is due when the job ad goes live; then the family pays a one-time Placement Fee of 10-15% of the candidate’s annual compensation depending on the package the family chooses. (The more you pay for upfront, the longer the guarantee period.) The family determines the candidate’s salary and pays the candidate directly. We recommend HomeWork Solutions to our clients. HomeWork Solutions helps families with household staff payroll.
Yes! Our replacement services extended beyond our standard locations. We can place nannies anywhere in the country applying our award-winning, proven successful approach to various markets.
We don’t just connect you with exceptional nannies. Our Placement Services are also for families looking to hire housekeepers, estate managers, newborn care specialists, travel nannies, family assistants, private educators, ROTA nannies and more.
We have generous replacement policies that protect your investment. If anything happens during the guarantee period, we will start the process all over again for free to help you identify replacement candidates for hire. The guarantee length varies, depending on which placement package you choose, ranging from 30 days to 180 days. However, because trial periods are a major part of the hiring process, replacements are rare.
Some agencies may want to collect a placement fee after a successful interview, but we know that sometimes nannies who interview well don’t prove to be a good fit in actuality. That is why we are going to encourage you to do a working interview (anywhere from a few days up to a week) to see how it goes before making a job offer and paying a placement fee. You will pay a daily agency fee for each day you want to trial.
